Why Hire an Intimacy Coordinator?

What is an IC?

An intimacy coordinator helps ensure that the filming of intimate scenes is handled with care, professionalism, and safety—both on camera and behind the scenes. Their role includes:

  • Upholding industry standards by ensuring closed set protocols and SAG-AFTRA intimacy guidelines are followed.

  • Facilitating communication between actors and the director to establish comfort levels with the intimate content of a scene.

  • Protecting boundaries both physically and emotionally throughout the filming process.

  • Choreographing and coaching movement for simulated intimate scenes to support both believability and storytelling, bringing to life the vision of the director and creative team.

  • Collaborating with other departments such as costumes and makeup to provide appropriate nudity garments, modesty wear, and prosthetics.

Why is it important to have an IC?

An intimacy coordinator safeguards performers, helps maintain a seamless production, provides valuable creative support, and makes intimate scenes believable and compelling during the most sensitive filming on set.

Testimonials

Ray Wilson - Panad Productions

"Aimee has an incredibly warm presence on set, she is hugely intuitive and emotionally intelligent. Talking to her and working with her is a joy and she just feels 'safe' to work alongside. She also has a very strong eye for detail, she'll often spot details in scripts that the director or producers have missed and bring these to our attention in advance of shooting. She is incredibly thorough in her prep and this is reflected in the quality of her work on set.

The industry needs more Intimacy Coordinators like Aimee."
